1. Handle Only by the Crown (Never Touch the Root!)
Pick up the tooth by the white chewing crown. Never touch the delicate root cells, as damaging them prevents successful re-attachment to your jawbone.
2. Keep the Tooth Moist in Milk or Saline
Do not scrub or wash with soap! Gently rinse with milk if dirty. Store the tooth in a small container of cold milk or cold saline. In an emergency, hold it inside your cheek.
